Scottish chocolatier wins best hot chocolate at international competition

A SCOTTISH chocolatier has topped off a successful 2014 by beating the best chocolatiers in the world to pick up an award for the best hot chocolate.

Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier won Best Hot Chocolate in The International Chocolate Awards held in Germany and awarded jointly with an Austrian Chocolatier.

The award adds to the 3 others which the company picked up this year.

In November they won the“Great British Salted Chocolate Challenge” in London with their entry of Salted Raspberry with Szechuan Pepper Salt.

November also saw them pick up The Independent Retailer of the Year trophy at the awards event at Crieff Hydro and Best Bar for their Salted Toffee Bar at the National Chocolate Awards in Perth.

Managing Director Janice Kennedy said “We have just enjoyed our best year in every conceivable measure – supplying British Airways First all round the world, creating a brand new online shop and our first store in St Andrews, launching The Velvet Truffle range which is a fantastic new retail offering – our turnover, profit and customer reputation is growing enormously, and it is pleasing that it should also be recognised on the awards front.

However, we never lose sight of the fact that it is our customer who is the real judge and our objective is to offer a truly outstanding customer service and world-class product excellence.”
