Tennis loving dog hopes to score a new home

STAFF at Dogs Trust Glasgow are hoping a tennis ball loving hound will find his ‘pawfect’ match in the wake of Wimbledon champion Andy Murray’s wedding.

Sandy, an eight-year-old Labrador Cross adores playing with tennis balls and hopes to find an equally tennis mad partner to double up with ahead of Wimbledon.

Sandra Lawton, manager at the Dogs Trust’s rehoming centre in Uddingston, said:  “Sandy is a wonderful dog who loves nothing more than playing with his favourite tennis ball.

“ He loves being outside and he’s always looking to learn new training techniques.

“He can get a little worried by new situations so a calm, quiet and understanding home, where he would be given time to settle in would suit him.

She added:  “He will happily live with another dog and would like a secure garden to roam around and perfect his training in.

“Sandy is looking for someone who enjoys the training element of owning a dog and will give him plenty of space whilst he settles in.

Sandy can live with children aged 16 and over and will require several meetings with any prospective owner before he goes to a new home.

Anyone who fancies taking Sandy on is asked to call the Dogs Trust rehoming centre on Hamilton Road  in Uddingston on 0300 303 0292.
