Bankers bake to raise money for Children in Need

BANKERS have raised £112,000 for BBC Children in Need by baking cakes.

Colleagues from Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland branches across the UK were encouraged to raise money for the charity by selling homemade treats to friends, colleagues and customers.

They were provided with baking decorations as well as cake baking kits and a copy Sir Terry Wogan’s recipe for lemon drizzle cake.

The money raised will go towards funding projects helping disadvantaged children and young people in local communities across the UK.

Phillip Grant, Regional Ambassador for Scotland, said: “A huge thanks to all of our colleagues who baked up a storm and got involved so enthusiastically in Ready Teddy Bake!

“Thanks, too, to all of our customers who donated so generously.”
