New Cowdenbeath player/manager Colin Nish has made his first signing after snapping up former Alloa and Raith Rovers striker Greig Spence on a 12-month deal.

One-time Celtic trainee Spence scored 13 goals in 38 appearances for a Wasps side that successfully retained their Championship status last season.

The 22-year-old also picked up a Challenge Cup winner’s medal with Raith Rovers during the 2013/14 campaign.

Nish, who is bidding to take the Blue Brazil straight back to the second tier, said: “Im delighted to make Greig my first signing. He is still young but has considerable Championship experience.

“As soon as I heard he was available, I made enquiries about him and, despite interest from a number of clubs, I’m pleased he chose to join Cowdenbeath.

“I’m looking forward to working and playing alongside him in the coming League One campaign.”
