Freed Rangers midfielder Ian Black is training with Raith Rovers as he looks for a new club.

The former Inverness Caley Thistle and Hearts player is out of contract after not being offered a new deal by the Ibrox club at the end of last season.

The 30-year-old, who played 111 games for Rangers after joining them in the Third Division in 2012, played and scored as a trialist for Berwick Rangers against Haddington Athletic earlier this month.

However, the Scotland cap never signed the contract on offer at Shielfield Park and has this week been training with Raith as he weighs up his options.

Rovers manager Ray McKinnon said: “Ian has been training with us and he’s a player I really like.

“We’ve given him training facilities and that’s how it stands at the moment.”
