Hibs striker Jamie Insall has joined League Two hopefuls East Fife on loan until January 5.

The 22-year-old joined the Hibees in September after impressing head coach Alan Stubbs during a trial period in the summer.

Insall, who came through the ranks at Kidderminster Harriers, scored a combined 42 goals last season between spells with Bromyard Town and Stourbridge.

He also turned out for the likes of Redditch United, Pershore Town, Littleton and Worcester Raiders, scoring a remarkable 67 goals for the latter.

However, he has been unable to make his mark in the Hibs first-team amid an embarrassment of riches in attack, including Jason Cummings, Dominique Malonga, James Keatings, Farid El Alagui, Martin Boyle and Islam Feruz.

Insall will go straight into Gary Naysmith’s squad for today’s trip to Arbroath, with East Fife seeking to halt a run of three successive matches without a goal.

The Bayview outfit remain in the playoff positions in League Two, but have not registered a victory since September 26.
