Rangers have appointed Falkirk’s Creag Robertson as their new head of academy football business and education.

Robertson has been working as the Bairns football development officer for the past 18 months after initially joining the club on a part-time basis while he completed a Masters degree in Sports Management at the University of Stirling.

Robertson said: “I am genuinely sad to be leaving Falkirk and I will always value my time here. Joining Rangers at this time will be a big challenge, but it is also a big opportunity.”

Falkirk chief executive Ronnie Bateman paid tribute to the departing Robertson.

He said: “We are disappointed to be losing Creag, but pleased for him that he is moving to a bigger job.

“He has made an outstanding contribution to the academy and to the development of our squad and we’re not surprised that this work has been noticed.

“He has represented the club in national discussions on the future of youth football and is highly respected within the club.

“Falkirk is recognised as a good club for finding, encouraging and developing young talent and we understand that people must move on to further their careers.”
