Andy Murray hooks up with funnyman Kevin Bridges at Wimbledon

ANDY MURRAY has been spotted rubbing shoulders with Scottish comedian, Kevin Bridges, at Wimbledon last night.

Bridges posted a photo of the pair together on his Twitter page following Murray’s match yesterday evening.

The two-time grand tennis slam winner is a well-known lover of comedy and arranged tickets for the Glaswegian comic to see his match against Nick Kyrgios on centre court.

Murray, who is famed for his serious and focussed nature on court, is seen beaming next to his fellow Scot in the locker room following the match.

Murray had twice the reason to smile after crushing his Australian opponent in straight sets before getting the chance to catch up with one of favourite comedians.

The tennis ace, from Dunblane, will now face Frenchman, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, in the quarter-finals.

Glasgow funnyman, Bridges, shared a picture with his 1.1 million Twitter followers of the two of them together following Murray’s victory with the caption: “The man!”

Fellow users were delighted to see the two Scottish “legends” together.

@maryemclay said: “Two Scottish legends right there!”

@JoeBesss asked: “Does it get anymore Scottish?”

Whilsy @Neesey239 commented: “My two faves in the same photo. Thanks for sharing.”

Others were surprised to see Murray break into a “rare” smile.

@bluebirds1998 said: “A rare photo of Andy Murray smiling.”

And @kitchey16 said: “Must be a cardboard cut out of Andy, he’s smiling!”

In 2013, Murray revealed that he watched reruns of Bridges’ comedy before a big match at Wimbledon that year.

Whilst some might expect the tennis star to be studying his opponent or getting an early night, Murray chose to unwind with some comedy.

It certainly worked as Murray went on to defeat Russian, Mikhail Youzhny, in the fourth round before going on to become the first Brit in over 70 years to win the event.
