Refereeing appointments for opening SPFL weekend,



Referee John Beaton will handle the standout fixture in the opening weekend of the Premiership when he takes charge of champions Celtic’s trip to Hearts.

The 34-year-old has been appointed to Sunday’s televised clash as the SPFL league season officially gets underway.

Don Robertson will preside over Rangers’ first match back in the top-flight when Mark Warburton’s side host Hamilton on Saturday lunchtime, while Willie Collum will take charge of St Johnstone’s clash with Aberdeen 24 hours later.

Kilmarnock’s visit of Motherwell on Saturday will be handled by Craig Thomson, while Bobby Madden will oversee Ross County versus Dundee. Nick Walsh is the man in the middle for Inverness’ match at Partick Thistle.

Kevin Clancy will oversee the biggest match in the Championship on Saturday when Falkirk and Hibs lock horns at the Falkirk stadium.
