SPFL league sponsors Ladbrokes insist the return of the much-anticipated Old Firm clash is set to send betting records tumbling.
The bookmaker expects a staggering 2,000 wagers to be placed every minute in the hours leading up to the high noon showdown.
Ladbrokes have put Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops as favourites at 8/13, with Rangers at 9/2 and the draw 16/5.
At odds of 66/1, punters can also bet on Celtic captain Scott Brown and outspoken Rangers midfielder Joey Barton both being sent-off following weeks of verbal sparring between the pair.
David Macdonald of Ladbrokes said: “The price might suggest that Celtic are favourites for this game, but the number of bets we’ve taken on both clubs is equal. It’s looking like customers are betting with their heart.”
