The forthcoming Scottish Cup Edinburgh derby between Hearts and Hibs at Tynecastle is heading for a 17,000 sell-out.

Hearts announced on Thursday that they only had a few hundred briefs left following huge demand for the fifth round clash on February 12.

Cup holders Hibs have already sold out their 3,700 allocation in the Roseburn Stand

With capital football fans have been denied league derby matches for the past two seasons as Hibs bid to regain their place back in the Premiership, fans are desperate to secure a seat for the televised showdown.

On their way to ending 114-years of Scottish Cup heartache last season, Hibs came came from two goals down at Tynecastle to force a replay, which they won courtesy of a Jason Cummings strike.

A Hearts spokesperson said: “Only a few hundred tickets are now left for the William Hill Scottish Cup 5th round tie against Hibs on Sunday, February 12th.

“The club would urge all season ticket holders who intend to buy tickets to do so at their earliest convenience.”
