Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton reckons Hoops full-back Kieran Tierney should have at least a £30 million buy-out clause in his contract.

Fresh from signing a new lucrative six-year deal at Parkhead, Tierney showed why he is so highly-rated with an eye-catching display in Tuesday’s narrow 2-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

As many as 17 scouts from English clubs were said to have watched Tierney and striker Moussa Dembele in action against the German giants and Sutton reckons Celtic could be in line for a huge windfall if the 20-year-old moves on.

BT Sport pundit Sutton said: “That boy is going places and Celtic have done the right thing, they’ve put him on a six-year contract.

“I would love to know what the trigger clause is, it has to be £30-plus million at least.

“He’s the best British-born full back in Britain. He’s 20-years-old, you look at the likes of Kyle Walker, he’s 27, Ryan Bertrand, he’s 28 – Danny Ross (27).”
