Two drivers pull off insane 80mph stunts – in front of ambulance driver

AN incredible video shows two drivers pulling off reckless moves at 80mph within a second of each other – in front of a stunned ambulance driver.

The first vehicle undercuts the ambulance from a slip road at high speed, driving on a hatched area to make the carriageway.

A moment later another car swerves in front of the ambulance at high speed to join the slip road.

Road experts called the incident “absolutely terrifying” and called for the drivers to be prosecuted.

The incident happened on the busy North Circular near Finchley, London, on Monday in front of ambulance driver Pete Meads, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

Infuriated by what he had witnessed he posted the footage on Facebook and wrote: “I’m a passenger here. Watch these two prats. Wait for the keyboard warriors to defend these drivers.”

Speaking today (WED), medic Pete, 54, said: “The two cars came from nowhere pushing about 80mph.

“Considering I was in an ambulance I was pretty shocked both drivers acted so irresponsibly in front of us. They had no thought for other road users and what consequences the outcome could of been if they hit another road user.

“Unfortunately the standard of driving with some motorists is at an all-time low and I see it every day.”

The video shows the ambulance driving on the inside lane behind a red car, just before a junction opens up to the left.

Four seconds in a silver Mercedes accelerates past, using the junction to pass the two vehicles and cut back in dangerously in front of the red car.

Straight away, another silver car, a Toyota, appears from the right and cuts off the ambulance to use the junction, but the driver is far too late and ends up cutting across the broken white lines. It then looks unsteady as it moves off.

On social media, Michael Hilton said: “Can you imagine the damage they would have caused if they both crossed the same time and collided with each other?

“Luckily they didn’t but they both need to be caught and dealt with by police in a way they will learn and see how close to death or serious injury not only to themselves but to the cam driver and passengers etc they were. No doubt they will do this time and time again until they are either fined or dead.”

Bindi Tickle said: “Reckless driving. There is no thought or care given to the road or anyone else around them . One second either way that could of be a awful crash scene to be attending too. Just plain stupidity.”

Phil Toseland said: “That’s almost a Hollywood film chase. Absolutely stupid on the street.”

Craig Gibbons added: “How that didn’t end up in carnage I don’t know. Beyond lucky.”

RAC spokesman Simon Williams also slammed the two drivers for their recklessness.

He said: “This is an absolutely terrifying display of dangerous driving. It’s incredible that no one was hurt as a result but the drivers of the two cars concerned clearly need to be prosecuted for their wanton disregard for road safety.”
