Hilarious moment po-faced dad becomes “gyrating Gerry” as he gatecrashes daughter’s bedroom dance

A DAD gatecrashes his daughter’s bedroom dance session to pull off some epic moves of his own in a hilarious video.

Siobhan Clarke was filming her little sister Louise dancing around her bedroom in Glasgow on Tuesday showing off some impressive moves.

But just as the 12-year-old was getting into full swing, her dad Gerry is shown walking in the room to drop of clean washing.

The 44-year-old looks a little confused at first but within seconds, a smile crosses his face as Louise tries to pull him into the dance with an invisible rope.

Hilariously, railway engineer Gerry then begins cutting shapes with his hands while bending his knees and thrusting his hips.

He then starts gyrating while making snake movements with his arms as Siobhan, 20, can be heard laughing in the background.

Siobhan shared the video on Twitter on Sunday, captioned “my dad” alongside crying emojis.

Since then it’s had over 122,000 views and attracted hundreds of comments from new Gerry fans.

Antonia Adams said: “Gerry’s got moves! Honestly was screaming last night watching this.”

Aidan Dickey wrote: “That boy is some dancer.”

And Rob Lees said: “Go on there dad, you show her.”

Speaking today (thur) Siobhan described Gerry’s dancing as “dad dancing”.

She added: “He’s always liked dancing but I don’t think it’s always liked him.

“When I first put it up I just expected a few of my friends to like it, nothing like this but it had 100 likes within the first 20 minutes so I had a feeling it was going to be popular so I had to tell him I put it up.

“He’s loving the attention!”

Speaking today (fri) Gerry said: “My wife had been doing the ironing so I thought I better help out here and took some of it upstairs. Then I walked in the room and thought ‘look at these states, well I may as well join in too’.

“The reaction has been hilarious. I had a friend from Colorado say it appeared on his Twitter feed after Siobhan put it up and he’s not even friends with her on there or anything.”

He added: “I’m not very good at dancing. I’m better at being a bad dad dancer.

“When I’m out it all depends on how many pints I’ve had, whether I get up dancing or not but the name Gyrating Gerry, that might stick, my friends and everyone will forever know me as that now.”
