Amazon customer films 62ft of packing paper snaking through house – used to “protect” dog food

AN exasperated Amazon customer has posted a video of 62ft of wrapping paper snaking through his house – that was used to “protect” dog food.

Nick Taylor said the box used to deliver the bag of food was “big enough to live in” and claimed the food didn’t need to be packaged at all.

Nick laid out the 19-metres of packaging paper in his home in Bath and posted the video to Amazon’s Facebook page.

The trail starts in what appears to be a utility room and leads in to a dining area before entering the kitchen itself. From there the paper enters the hall, where the dog food can be glimpsed in its heavy plastic packaging.

Taking a sharp right, the paper leads into the lounge and past Nick’s bemused-looking pooch. Turning 180 degrees, the paper goes back out of the lounge and into the dining room proper before ending.

The product is thought to be a 12kg bag of Eukanuba breed nutrition for golden retrievers currently priced at £26.63.

He told Amazon: “So or

dered a bag of dog food, which can be delivered as is. No need for packaging.

“It arrives in a box big enough to live in and with 62ft of brown paper. I’m seriously considering going somewhere else to buy things it’s a joke!”

On Facebook Nick was advised by Amazon to report his packaging issues via a link.

He replied saying: “I’ve responded back on this before but nothing changes.”

Amazon replied to Nick online.

Amazon have come under increasing scrutiny recently for their oversized packaging. Last week a picture went viral of a 5ft 1in woman who recieved a 2ft microphone pole in a box that she could fit inside.

And a woman from Southampton described as “madness” getting a bottle of nail polish in a box big enough to fit both her feet inside. The anonymous customer took a photo of her feet inside the box to prove her point.

An Amazon spokeswoman said: “We are always driving improvements in the sustainability of packaging across Amazon’s supply chain, starting with our own packaging and our own operations.

“Customer feedback informs our worldwide packaging team and allows us and our vendors to make improvements.”
