DANCER Louie Spence has been trolled on Twitter for complaining about a £20 gym joining fee – despite being worth an estimated £1.5m.
Spence tweeted gym giant Duncan Bannatyne yesterday afternoon about his membership and expressed his disappointment that he had to pay a joining fee.
The dancer had to pay the fee to renew his membership at the Braintree gym in Essex after coming back from the panto – despite being a member of the club for two years.
Bannatyne responded by asking whether Spence had been paying his membership.
The spat has lead to many people trolling the Pineapple Studios dancer for being “tight”.
Spence tweeted: “@DuncanBannatyne Very Disappointed with your gym in Braintree. Went to renew my membership after coming back from panto and I’m expected to pay a £20 joining fee when I’ve already been a member for the last two years.”
Bannatyne replied shortly after saying “Now now now Louie. How are you? I hope you are keeping well? I have not seen you for a while. Have you been continually paying membership for two years?”
Spence is yet to answer Bannatyne’s questions, but he has faced grief from commenters online.
Whitevanman71 said: “Money he earns and is wittering about £20? #unreal.”
Andy3cunny added: “Tight t*** £20.”
Politics_2018 wrote: “I can’t believe you’d have the gall to complain about paying £20. I hope you don’t give in to his celebrity status and allow him off with it.”
RichardEarp14 said: “Who goes to renew their membership? Doesn’t it automatically renew. Most likely he was a member, he cancelled, now wants to join again. So he effectively joins as a new member, therefore the £20 joining fee.”
Mikerainham added: “He doesn’t want to cough up £20, that doesn’t buy a round of drinks these days.”
Jonnylilley says: “Charge him double – cheeky sod!”
Louie Spence was brought in to unveil a £400,000 refurbishment of the Braintree gym.
Spence said at the time “it was fabulous to officially open the new gym-floor”.
He added: “The renovations weren’t just a lick of paint either, there’s lots of new equipment, which looks amazing. Very modern. I can’t wait to get back in there to test it all out!”
Spence is know for his extravangant and flamboyant personality.
On the reality TV show ‘The Jump’ Spence even requested a ‘damehood’ from the Queen in a an exchange with fellow contestant Mike Tindall.
Spence said: “I’ll strike you a deal. I’ll help you win if you can get me a damehood from The Queen.”
