Student who was told dress was doing her “no favours” now models on ASOS website

Thea features alongside the ASOS model in the dress.

A TINDER user who was cruelly mocked for the dress she was wearing is now modelling on a major retailer’s website.

Thea Chippendale, 20, from North Lincolnshire branded men as “trash” on Twitter as a match, only known as George, went out of his way to condemn her “charity shop” dress.

The student from Lincoln University has had the last laugh as the viral snap now features on the ASOS website beside the dress in question.

The retail giant tweeted a clip of the item on their website as the images a model wearing the dress are swiped past to reveal the snap of Thea.

ASOS tweeted: “@theachippendale Swipe right to see who had the last laugh…”

George has kept quiet but Thea has had the last laugh.

Twitter user @CurseTee91 dubbed the move as “the ultimate clapback.”

The company have been inundated with praise for featuring Thea on their site, with some calling for her to model more clothes online.

@TheRealEdVegas said: “Sign her up ASOS!

“Maybe this is the start of a ‘real model’ campaign.”

@gailtully said: “@theachippendale as a bigger part of your campaign, she is an inspiration to every woman out there.”

@Jessage95 commented: “Make her a model asap! She is gorgeous.”

@marco__90 said: “Imagine being lucky enough to get a match like this on Tinder and f**k it up.”

Speaking today, Thea said: “It’s insane! ASOS saw the original tweet and messaged asking me whether I would like my picture on their product page, I immediately said yes.

“I am feeling very lucky that ASOS have been so kind and lovely to have put my picture on there, I still can’t quite believe it.

“I still have the Tinder app but steering clear from it for now.

“I’ve noticed quite a lot of people messaging me asking whether I’m the girl from all the articles!”

On Tuesday, Thea tweeted the Tinder exchange together with a picture of her wearing the garment which has now racked up over 98,000 likes.

She commented: “Men are trash. (Included the pic he’s on about).”

In the exchange, gallant George said: “Not gonna lie, you’re a bit of a joke. But that dress in the last photo is not doing any favours.”

He also claims he “wouldn’t of slept” had he not offered her the fashion advice.
