Hearts ace Arnaud Djoum lands Cameroon call for Africa Cup of Nations after impressing Clarence Seedorf

HEARTS star Arnaud Djoum has been named in Clarence Seedorf’s preliminary Cameroon squad for this summer’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Dutch icon Seedorf has selected an initial 34-man group for the competition, which will take place in Egypt between June 21 and July 19.

The roster will be whittled down to 23 closer to the tournament but, having been a mainstay of Seedorf’s side to date, Djoum is fully expected to make the cut.

Djoum, after lifting the trophy two years ago

The 30-year-old, who is out of contract with the Jambos this summer, has won 20 caps for his country and was a key part of the Indomitable Lions squad that lifted the trophy in 2017 under previous boss Hugo Broos.

Cameroon are in Group F alongside Ghana, Benin and Guinea-Bissau.
