“Nowt will stop us Yorkshire folk!” Amazing moment OAP on mobility scooter powers through flooded street.

A HILARIOUS video shows a fearless elderly woman on a mobility scooter power her way through a flooded street.

The woman refused to be daunted by the deluged road in Sheffield after the city, and much of northern England, was hit by flooding.

Onlookers can be heard gasping and laughing as the determined pensioner pushes on through the water, even as it splashes around her knees.

The incident happened on Thursday in the Woodseats area of the city and was filmed by Stephanie Jubb.

Stephanie, 25, from Woodseats posted the video on Facebook saying: “Not something you see every day at work.”

The clip shows the large area flooded as cars brave it through the water.

A woman is heard saying; “Look at it, it’s flooded down there.”

Suddenly, a woman appears in shot driving her mobility scooter.

Much to Stephanie and her colleagues’ shock, she begins to drive in the water.

Stephanie is heard shouting “no!” in disbelief as the mobility scooter ploughs on.

Unphased, the elderly woman continues to drive through without stopping.

Much to Stephanie and her colleagues’ shock, she begins to drive in the water.

Stephanie and her colleagues burst out laughing, amazed by what they had seen.

The video was also shared by the Facebook page ‘Sheffield Online’ where many in the comments praised the elderly woman’s resilience.

Tracey Earley wrote: “Dunkirk spirit is alive and well in Sheffield!”

Janet Simpson added: “Love this, nowt will stop us Yorkshire folk..oh least we think it won’t.”

Stephanie today said she was amazed by what she saw.

She said: “We were worried about flooding in the shop so we were filming it to show our head office and then the women drove past, she then came back through it with all her shopping.

“She just powered through it.

“We couldn’t believe she was going through it and she didn’t even try to lift her legs up.”

This comes after Sheffield and the surrounding area was hit by severe flooding.
