Record amount raised at annual St Andrews Day event

Skye based Skeabost Hotel is celebrating after raising over £25,000 for local charities at its St Andrews Night Banquet and Charity Auction, beating last year’s total.

The annual event was held at Skeabost Hotel on Saturday 30th November in collaboration with Ian Williams, local artist and committed fundraiser.

The full cost of ticket sales and money raised from the charity auction will be split equally and donated to local causes Skye and Lochalsh Young Carers, Skye Food Bank and Crossroads Care.

Auction prizes included several boat trips that were kindly donated by a number of local businesses and individuals including a ceramic penguin designed by Ian Williams which raised a staggering £1000 and a second one a further £1000.
