Former marine dons fancy dress every day while walking dogs to cheer up neighbours

AN EX-marine has been delighting locals in his area by getting kitted out in fancy dress every day to walk his dog.

Steve James was spotted strutting round the streets of Portesham, Dorset in a variety of guises, including as an exotic belly dancer and a biblical shepherd.

The 51-year-old said his colourful costumes were designed to cheer people up in his area, however his antics recently went viral after they were posted on social media by a friend.

Photos of the former Royal Marines Commando show him posing with pooches in various outfits.

It one, he wears a bright pink belly dancer outfit topped off with a pair of walking boots.

Another shows Steve in full Elvis attire, sporting a white rhinestone jumpsuit with Union Jack pants on over the top.

Other costumes include Batman, a golfer, a sheep and a Nativity-style shepherd – complete with tea towel on head.

The hilarious outfits were tweeted by Steve’s pal Jack Parker on Wednesday April 8.

He shared the costumes with the caption: “My mate has been dressing up everyday to cheer the neighbourhood up while he takes the dogs out.”

The tweet, which has since clocked up more than 22,000 likes, has had social media users in stitches.
