Hearts top of the table taking into account this stat regarding youngsters – Rangers are bottom

Hearts may be bottom of the Premiership on points but they are top when it comes to giving game time to youngsters.

Analysis from the CIES Football Observatory, who looked at 1,292 clubs from 93 top divisions across the world, shows that players under the age off 22 have featured in 20.6% of minutes for the Tynecastle club for the 2019/20 campaign until the turn of the year.

City rivals Hibs are second bottom on 6.6% ahead of Rangers (1.7%).

St Johnstone are second (18.8%), with current leaders Celtic (18.7%) third.

The Scottish Premiership as a whole has given 13.4 per cent of minutes to players under that age, the 45th best tally.

Young Lions of Singapore have the highest percentage 81.1, while a total of 33 clubs scored at 0.0%, including English sides Crystal Palace and Sheffield United.
