Shocking video shows “drunk yobs driving at 100mph” launch bottle of “Buckfast” at motorist on busy road

THIS is the moment a group of yobs driving at “100mph” on the wrong side of the road launch “a bottle of Buckfast” at a motorist’s car.

Lewis Arthur was driving from the Scottish Highlands to Glasgow on Saturday when the terrifying moment occurred.

The 19-year old says he was pursued along the A82 by a blue Ford Fiesta containing four “drunk” men in their late 20’s, who launched the projectile at him.

As the clip begins, Lewis is seen driving along when suddenly the car full of yobs pulls up alongside him, into the path of oncoming traffic.

Lewis can be heard saying: “Record now” to his passenger.

As the car passes them Lewis shouts: “ You f*****”. He is cut off as the bottle comes hurtling towards his car.

Lewis’ passenger, in shock, can be heard saying:“Oh my god.”

The car containing the supposedly drunken men then zooms off into the distance.

Lewis took to social media shortly after to appeal for information, saying: “Driving back from fort William and a blue fiesta with a bunch of guys giving me abuse and following me and have thrown a bottle at my car and damaged all the front wing.”

“Police were called, told I’d get a call back, heard nothing.

“Car was also travelling ridiculous speeds in a 40 zone! Probably doing 100 mph looked like a drunk driver too!”

“My car’s wing is all damaged and I’m not willing to pay for this when neds like these destroy people’s hard-earned stuff.”

His post has outraged social media users.

Gordon Fair commented:” Absolute f***** w** man! Take that into a station and report it better than phoning it in. Hope you get it sorted mate.”

Darren Turnbull commented: “Brutal lad hope u get to the bottom of it mate and get damages fixes as well nothing but scum out there like.”

And Danny Allen wrote: “W*****s lad, just allow the police to get a hand on them if they can’t indemnify the bottle thrower the driver will be charged.”

Speaking today, Lewis said: “I just want these people caught and the correct consequences to hit them.”

“People like this should not be on the roads or have a license and a car is unfortunately going to cost a couple hundred pounds which I don’t see why I should pay for.”

It was said to have occurred on this road the shocking incident

Lewis added that the driver of the other car got out previously at some traffic lights to confront him after trying to pass Lewis previously.

“The guy jumped out at traffic lights, I just sped off.

“They pursued me for about ten minutes. I thought he was actually going to ram the car.

“I just got a quote today and there is about £200 quid’s damage to the front drivers side.”

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We received a report of damage to a car on the A82 near the Erskine Bridge around 9.55pm on Saturday, 20 June, 2020.

“Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 4720 of 20 June.”
