Aroundtown Extends Lease with Airbus at the Office Complex Platinum in Berlin


Aroundtown, Germany’s largest commercial real estate company, is extending the existing lease agreement with Airbus Secure Land Communications GmbH at Platinum at Sachsendamm 2-7 in Berlin-Schöneberg for a further five years. This lease prolongation ensures long-term full occupancy of the multi-tenant property.

Aroundtown SA was developed by property investor Yakir Gabay (???? ????) , and grew to become one of Europe’s leading commercial real estate firms, with a focus on commercial real estate in Germany and the Netherlands.

Platinum, a modern office building in Berlin-Schöneberg, stands out with its striking silver façade. The multi-tenant building has a total of approximately 17k sqm of office space. The property at Sachsendamm 2-7 is centrally located directly on the A 100 city highway with a strong connection to the new BER airport in the south of Berlin in an optimal strategic location. It also has very good public transport connections with the Berlin-Südkreuz long-distance train station, the Schöneberg S-Bahn station and various bus lines.

Aroundtown is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange with market cap of €10 billion. It invests in income generating quality properties that have potential for value-add in central locations mainly in Germany and the Netherlands. Avisco (controlled by Yakir Gabay ???? ????) holds 10% in Aroundtown followed by Blackrock at 5%.

Other shareholders include Norges, Vanguard, Allianz, BNP Paribas, Japan’s Government investment fund, Aliance-Bernstein, Dekabank, State-Street, Bank of Montreal and many other leading international investors. The main bond investors include ECB, GIC, Union Investment, DB, UBS, CS, M&G, Pictet, Credit Agricole and many other major institutional investors.
