Yodel investigating after CCTV appears to show courier ‘stealing parcel after delivering it to concierge’

YODEL is investigating after CCTV appeared to show a courier stealing a parcel he had just delivered to a concierge.

James Thomas received a message saying his new trainers had been delivered last week but when he went to the lobby to collect them they weren’t there.

Jamie decided to look back at the building in Manchester‘s CCTV footage to find out where his package went after the concierge said it had been handed to him.

Video shows a Yodel courier hanging around the lobby after the concierge at the front desk left.

He then leans across the desk and picks up James’ parcel before typing on his device.

The delivery driver then begins feeling around the package from Footasylum which has already been scanned and marked as delivered.

He then walks out of the building with James’ item before the clip comes to an end.

Yodel today apologised for their courier’s actions and said his behaviour does not meet their high standards.

James posted footage onto social media last week, writing: “Hey @yodelonline, your driver is a thief and it’s all on CCTV.

“You might want to look into it as I’d like my order delivered back to me.

“He marked it as delivered and then took it back when the concierge left the desk.

“Watch how he feels the package and likely realises it’s a shoe box from the box lid’s overhang.

“That’s when he decides he’s going to take it.”

The post has received dozens of likes and retweets.

A Yodel spokesperson today said: “The safe delivery of parcels is our number one priority and this behaviour clearly does not meet the high standards we expect.

“We have apologised to the customer and are carrying out a full investigation to ensure appropriate action is taken with the driver involved.”
