Third lawyer at Scots legal firm recognised for medical negligence expertise

A THIRD lawyer at Scottish law firm Balfour+Manson has been recognised for her medical negligence expertise.

Carolyn Jackson has been recognised as a specialist in medical negligence law – which means Balfour+Manson now has more accredited specialists in the field than any other private legal firm in Scotland.

Carolyn, an Associate with the firm, joins Partner Ann Logan and Senior Associate Michaela Guthrie in gaining the accreditation from the Law Society of Scotland.

Ann Logan, a Litigation Partner with experience in medical negligence and personal injury law, said: “This recognition for Carolyn’s dedication and skill is extremely well-deserved.

“[It] further reinforces our reputation for expertise and excellence in the medical negligence field.

“It is a real privilege to be able to say that Balfour+Manson has more accredited specialists in this field than any other private legal practice in Scotland.

“Our clients can be assured that the specialist skills within our team will be put to the very best use to serve their interests – at a time in their lives that can be hugely stressful and challenging.”

Carolyn Jackson has specialised exclusively in the field of medical negligence for a decade – and has significant experience and a proven track record in handling intricate actions including those arising from birth injuries, surgical errors and delayed diagnoses.

She joined Balfour+Manson from NewLaw Scotland in spring 2021.

Carolyn said: “I have always been committed to my area of practice and I’m thrilled to have received my accreditation as a specialist in medical negligence law.”

“I really enjoy the challenges that this area of law can present, and I am proud and privileged to be able to help families and individuals who may have suffered life-altering injuries or loss due to negligence.”
