Recently infused products have been coming up left, right, and center. Dispensaries in San Diego are stocking infused teas, infused sprays, and so on. Well, infused bath bombs are one of the favorites that get used by stoners and non-stoners alike. So, what’s a weed bath bomb? It is precisely what it sounds like, a bath bomb with weed as one of its components. Various fragrances and compositions offer users the choice of picking what tickles their fancy.

Why Use an Infused Bath Bomb?

Research has it that infused bath bombs have many benefits for the body. Consider this, you have had a hard day at work and are sore all over. Alternatively, you can pop some painkillers and let the pain go away slowly, or you could have a refreshing soak in cannabis-infused bath bombs.

Cannabis on its own contains THC and CBD that work on inflammation, tensions in the body, aches, and many more forms of discomfort. Infusion into a bath bomb provides a balanced amount of THC and CBD that work together to make your bath relaxing and enjoyable.

DIY Weed Bath bombs

You may find that store-bought cannabis infused bath bombs are pricey due to demand and supply. Don’t you fret, though. You can always make bath bombs home with as much weed as possible. Most ingredients can be found in your local store, and the process is not rocket science.

What you’ll Need

Infused cannabutter/ cannabis tincture
1 cup baking soda
10 drops of essential oils (Your preferred ones)
1/2 cup Epson or sea salt
1/2 cup citric acid
Bath bomb mold (Can be bought online via Amazon or any local DIY stores)
1-2 drops of food coloring/ mica powder

The Step-by-step process
Now that you have all your ingredients ready, the following point is the mixing process. Before you start mixing, ensure you have all the ingredients at hand. Also, if you have an allergy when using any of the listed products, you can look up substitutes on the internet. Here is a breakdown of the process;

Step 1: Mix your dry ingredients in a single bowl except for the coloring ingredients

Step 2: Combine your wet ingredients in a separate glass without the color

Step 3: Gently pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones while mixing slowly. A lot of fizzing indicates that you are mixing too roughly. For those using food coloring, add the drops at this point.

Step 4: With all the ingredients mixed, the consistency should be like wet sand. If you are using Mica powder, this is the time to add your coloring. You can check if the mixture combines in clumps in your hand. If it doesn’t, add some water.

Step 5: Take your two halves of a bath bomb and fill each with the mixture till it gets over-filled. They should not be too densely packed.
Step 6: Sprinkle more mixture on each half, press them together, and hold for ten or twenty seconds.

Step 7: Gently remove one side of the mold and let it dry for about 20 minutes, then remove the other side.

Step 8: Let your DIY CBD bath bombs sit and dry for a few hours. The longer, the better, so consider an overnight sitting.
Bath bomb Making Pro Tips

When making bath bombs, you need to be ready for some collapses. When you remove the casts, your mixture may crash in your hand. At this point, you can use your remaining mixture to mould another whole ball.
There is also the option of using ice cube trays. Ice cube trays are more compact and smaller in size. You will have the same kind of bath bomb but in smaller sizes.

One of the most frequently asked questions with using infused bath bombs is whether one can get high from the same. While research states that it is hard to get high, there are instances where women report psychoactive symptoms from soaking in a cannabis-infused bath bomb.

To Soak or not to soak?

A warm bath is always a good idea at the end of the day or on one of those lazy afternoons. With cannabis infused bath bombs, you stand to get more relaxation and a general sense of calmness. CBD and THC offer your body all their meditative effects.

Though you will not end up getting high, you will ease the tension in your body and be more relaxed to face the next day’s events. When using a cannabis infused bath bomb, it is recommended to soak in the water for longer. You should be in there for more than 45 minutes. That way, the cannabis works through your skin and into your bloodstream for that needed therapeutic effect.
