WATCH the shocking moment a brazen thief smashes a car window with a rock in the dead of night to ransack the vehicle and rob tools sitting inside it.
The thief’s bold crime was caught on CCTV on Gascony Avenue in Kilburn, north-west London earlier this month.
The criminal, caring little for subtlety, can be seen hurling a rock through the car’s passenger window before hopping in and helping himself.
The video shows the robber winding up to launch the rock at the car in which the victim – a heating engineer – had left his tools overnight.
The anonymous man throws the rock straight through the window, shattering it into pieces, before fiddling with the handle to gain access.
The clip then cuts to the bold bloke inside the vehicle, scrambling around and lifting bags and toolboxes out through the window and setting them outside.
Quickly forming a pile of stolen goods on the pavement, the thug continues to rummage around inside the car, taking everything he can get his hands on.
Incredibly, a second thief then suddenly appears to assist his pal, walking into frame and leaning through the smashed window.
The thief in the car hands a heavy power tool to his accomplice, who also picks up a toolbox and moves off out of frame again.
Both a van and a motorbike pass the thieves in the middle of their crime but seemingly either do not notice or care to stop the pair.
Continuing in his search for valuables, the first of the robbers is unfazed by the passing vehicles.
Eventually satisfied with his takings, the thief clambers back out of the broken window and gathers up his takings to make a getaway just as another car passes.
The footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “At 3am 16/3 my brother had his car broken into and all his tools stolen, destroying his livelihood (he is a heating engineer) and having a devastating financial impact.
“The theft is captured on camera on Gascony Ave in Kilburn where he lives, please help us to catch the perpetrators.”
The clip has since received dozens of likes and comments from users both shocked at the brazen thieves whilst also questioning the choice of leaving tools unattended.
One user said: “He left tools in a car… overnight… in Kilburn… he’s not the sharpest tool in the box he hasn’t got any more is he?”
Another added: “2024 and people still leave tools in the vehicle? Make it make sense.”
A third wrote: “Absolute scum. I hope they catch the b*****d and he gets what he deserves.”
Another replied: “Tools probably ended up in Vauxhall market being sold on.”
