An iconic Scottish art deco roadhouse, which has become a beacon for regeneration in what was once one of Scotland’s most deprived electoral wards, officially re-opened it’s doors (Friday 18th March) following a year-long restoration project.

The White House in Craigmillar has been brought back to life as part of a £2 million project

The B-listed building, designed in 1936 by William Innes Thomson, is a stunning example of art deco architecture and is one of Scotland’s last remaining roadhouses, which became popular thanks to the motoring boom of the inter-war years.
