Hibernian are poised to complete the permanent signing of Martin Boyle on a two-year deal.

The 22-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan from Dundee and had been offered fresh terms by the Dark Blues.

However, sources at Easter Road have indicated that negotiations with the attacker are at an advanced stage and could be concluded within the next 48 hours.

Boyle scored three times in 17 appearances for Hibs but was ruled out of their play-off clashes with Rangers after injuring his knee in the final league game of the campaign against Falkirk.

The former Montrose striker underwent an operation to repair torn medial ligaments and head coach Alan Stubbs indicated at the time he anticipated Boyle would be sidelined for up to four months.

However, with Boyle indicating recently that his surgery had gone ‘well’, the Hibs boss revealed last month he was keen to sign the player permanently and, barring any last-minute hitches, is expected to land his man in the coming days.
