REMARKABLE footage shows a driver doing a three-point-turn on an A road during the rush hour – in a double decker bus.
The Stagecoach driver pulled off the manoeuvre in a remarkable 40 seconds but a large queue of traffic built up and online viewers have branded the driver a “prat”.
At the start of the video, the dash cam vehicle is driving on the A57 near Dunham-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
In the distance, a bus can be seen trying to hook back on itself, to complete a U-turn, but is far too long to do this in one step.
Instead, as the dash cam vehicle gets closer, the bus is seen reversing back, before attempting the turn again.
It almost has to reverse a further time, but thanks to a parking bay on the right hand side of the road, is able to hook round in three points, rather than five.
As it complete the move, a line of at least ten vehicles can be seen behind, and as the clip was recorded shortly before 9AM, it is likely many were travelling to work.
The footage was recorded in October last year, but has resurfaced on social media this week.
Trying to explain the reasons for the manoeuvre, Aaron Spall, who recorded the footage, said: “There is a toll bridge but it was only £1.50. Perhaps he was lost.”
Commenting on the footage on Facebook, several users expressed disapproval at the driver’s actions.
Philip Nixon wrote: “Bell***.”
Whilst Chez Miller added: “Prat.”
Phil Goodwin commented on the advert on the side of the bus, which contains the word “ridiculous”.
He wrote: “First word on the advert says it all for me.”
