SCOTS have been left in stitches over a “Taken” style sign demanding people take their rubbish home – or face the wrath of the sign maker’s “particular set of skills”.

Marie Maddin-Wells was travelling to a wedding at Eilean Donan in the Western Highlands when she spotted the sign on the A86 two weeks ago.

Having stopped at a small car park in Kinloch Laggan, Inverness-shire, Marie noticed the sign nailed to a fence.

The note advises visitors to “take your rubbish with you” and follows the structure of Liam Neeson’s well-known speech from the film Taken.

It reads: “I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want.

“If you are looking for a dustbin I can tell you I don’t have one.

“But what I do have is a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career.

“Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.

“If you take your rubbish with you now, that’ll be the end of it.

“I will not look for you, I will not pursue you.

“But if you don’t, I will look for you, and I will find you.”

It finishes in smaller writing with “Smile you’re on CCTV”.

Marie, 44, posted a picture of the hilarious sign on Facebook yesterday, with the caption: “Saw this sign while heading to Eilean Donan for a wedding, made me chuckle”.

The post now has just under 2,000 likes and over 200 shares on social media.

The Liam Neeson style sign was seen outside a 4×4 centre on the A86.

Lorraine McIntosh said: “Let’s hope the litter gets ‘Taken’ home.”

Sheila Binks commented: “Didn’t realise Liam Neeson lived in the Highlands!”

Wendy McDonald Maltman wrote: “Love this. Pity it should need to be put up in the first place – some people are just lazy ignorant sods.”

Charline Huddlestone Dixon added: “Brilliant, I love it.”

Speaking today, Marie, from Arbroath, Angus, said: “I thought it was funny, it made me properly laugh out loud.

“And it made me look about for Liam Neeson hiding in the trees!”
