THIS is the heartwarming moment that a family created a unique atmosphere in a residential street for London Marathon runners – by setting up their own DJ booth.

The world-famous marathon which takes runners through several boroughs in the capital city over the 26.2-mile route had an extra party atmosphere added in one street.

More than 50,000 runners took to the streets to enjoy the day raising millions for a variety of charities and causes with entertainment on one street proving popular on social media.

The household has since received plaudits for their efforts in making sure they kept spirits high during the gruelling race.

Footage captured by local Catherine O’Brien shows a street in London lined with locals cheering as the elite athlete’s group approaches.

Catherine walks down the street and pans the camera to show a man dressed in the Union Flag colours as he stands on a brick wall with a microphone attached to a stand.

In the front garden of the man’s home is a blue gazebo decorated in the red, white and blue of the United Kingdom.

As Catherine draws closer to the booth, another man can be heard saying: “Still treat it like a road please.”

The man with the microphone can be heard cheekily replying: “It’s not an education, man.”

The DJ replies: “I just want a little public safety announcement. Sorry.”

The family have gone all out with a complete set of decks ready to entertain en masse as the man encourages his co-host to play some music.

Music from This Girl by Cookin’ on 3 Burners and Kungs blasts through the speakers as runners can be seen approaching the house from the opposite end of the street.

Motorcycles filming the marathon for national broadcaster BBC lead the way as runners follow closely behind.

The classic Rocky theme tune Gonna Fly Now by Rocky Orchestra can then be heard playing as more runners approach.

The man with the microphone then shouts out in support: “Nice and close. Let them know you’re here.”

Locals cheer as they run past in unison, clearly delighted by the unexpected entertainment on show.

The man with microphone then asks: “Has anyone seen Rocky?”

A man can then be seen running on his own as the crowd cheer him on and suddenly is given the adulation of the crowd as he’s dubbed their ‘Rocky’.

The man then says through the microphone: “Here comes Rocky. Go Rocky.”

The camera then cuts to him jesting to a further group of focused runners: “I’ve got bad news for you runners.

“There’s been a false start. You’re gonna have to go to the beginning.”

The camera then cuts to the DJ playing Freed From Desire by Gala as runners get into the party spirit while pounding the streets.

Whilst still running through the street, some participants can be seen stopping for a small dance break enabling them to move the lactic acid away from their legs.

Catherine shared the heartwarming video earlier this week writing: “TCS London Marathon.”

The post received over 84,000 likes with hundreds of comments from social media users who were loving the postive vibes being spread during the marathon.

One person wrote: “I remember they were playing Sweet Caroline when I went past. It’s such a boost and these guys are what the marathon is all about, true legends.”

Another said: “I got a shout out from him! Was buzzing.”

A third commented: “I run marathons and people who play music and cheer the runners are very much appreciated by us slow-pokes.

“You give us a little spark of happiness to keep us going until the next water stop.”

Another added: “Londoners really make the London marathon. This is awesome to watch.”
