Hibs head coach Neil Lennon all but confirmed the signing of former Motherwell winger Chris Humphrey after watching his team come from behind to beat Falkirk 2-1.
The 29-year-old looks set to join the Leith outfit on a deal until the end of the season after being released at Preston North End following only seven Championship starts for the English club this season.
Lennon said: “I think that’s done and he should be in on Monday. It’s done until the end of the season and we’ll review it after that.
Lennon was left smiling at Falkirk after Kris Commons’s thunderdous 87th minute free-kick sent the Easter Road side back to the Championship summit after Jason Cummings cancelled out Bairns midfielder Craig Sibbald’s 15th minute opener.
“He was the only man I wanted on the free-kick,” said Lennon, who lauded a ‘big, big win’.
“He’s got that power and quality and I don’t think Danny Rogers had a chance.
“I think it went through his arms at probably 80 miles per hour. To get it up and with that velocity is a skill in itself.
“It’s a relief for him to get off the mark, we know he is not a 100 per cent fit but he is a difference. Sometimes he see things and he’s got that quality.
“It was a hard fought win and I think we deserved it on chances alone.”
