How to Turn Your Tractor into An Effective Machine for Multiple Applications

There’s no better time than now to start thinking about ways to maximise the performance of your tractor. You can transform your tractor into a powerful workhorse that accommodates a wide range of operations if you have the right add-ons. Accessories and attachments range in price from pretty inexpensive to extremely costly. If you’re curious about the best tractor add-ons to have, continue reading.

Install Auxiliary Lighting

Night-time can be treacherous due to reduced visibility, so install auxiliary lighting to finish the job safely. LED lights are the best bet, as the beam pattern is both broad and far casting. They’re helpful on dark country roads when there aren’t any cars around. The LED lights can last 40,000 hours before they’ll need to be replaced. Find a suitable mounting place for the auxiliary lighting, and make sure not to overtighten the screws because you may have to adjust the LED lights. Have one or two LED lights facing backward so you can back up like a boss. They’re anti-shock, anti-rain, and anti-fog.

Get A Stone Crusher

Stone crushers for tractors are versatile owing to their small dimensions and lower weight; they’re designed for reclamation and uncultivated soil with stones. If you’re a contractor, quarry operator, or run a recycling/mining company, get a stone crusher right away to improve the flexibility of your tractor. On the farm, when pesticides are sprayed, the liquid doesn’t penetrate the soil, meaning that the seeds of the weeds remain intact. If you’re a grain farmer, a stone crusher is a perfect add-on, as it can crush stones up to 50 cm in diameter. For smaller rocks, a hammer/pick will do just fine.

Look For a Snow Blower

A dedicated snow blower is costly, not to mention rarely used, but you have a cost-effective and reliable alternative: fit your tractor with a professional attachment. It can be combined with both mechanical and hydraulic loaders. When installing the snow blower attachment, ensure the tractor engine is off and the parking brake is set. Attach the add-on to the hitch and lift it slowly to lock the pins. Once there’s enough slack on the belt, route it around the drive sheave. In no time, you’ll have a snow-free and damage-free driveway (and it’ll cost less than hiring a professional).

Change The Game with A Backhoe Thumb

A backhoe thumb is indispensable for scrap handling, land clearing, and demolition. Convenience is expensive, but if you’re on a budget, the aftermarket has a few options to choose from, just make sure the size is right; otherwise, you risk damaging the machine. A backhoe thumb is a great selling point if you decide to go in another direction, so if you can afford it, don’t deprive yourself of this simple pleasure. You can always pull the backhoe thumb off and throw it on the bench to beef it up. The backhoe thumb goes from digging to material handling (and can be stored away when not in use), so it’s a must-have add-on.

Final Thoughts

Upgrading your tractor to a practical machine for multiple applications is possible. You can be sure it’ll have a clear advantage over a tractor from the shelf.
