Scots company creates new senior management roles to aim for strategic growth

A SCOTS timber and building supplies company has created two new senior management roles to move forward in strategic growth plan.

St Andrews Timber & Building Supplies’ Rab McNally is stepping up to Group Sales Director after 14 years as the firm’s Regional Manager.

Mr McNally will be based at the Prestonfield headquarters in Edinburgh and will oversee the four branches in Stenhouse, Livingston, and Paisley.

(L-R): Rab McNally, Kerrie Ferguson, and Martin McKale are hopeful for the company’s strategic growth.

He will be responsible for the group-wide development and implementation of St Andrews’ long-term goals whilst also being tasked with driving growth and sales across the central belt.

Operations Director Kerrie Ferguson said: “We have a long-term growth plan for the business and these two senior appointments are cornerstones of that strategy.

“Both men are widely respected within the St Andrews group and across the sector and will be real assets to us in these roles.

“Rab has over 40 years of experience in the industry and has been with us for 14 years and is ideally placed to take on the position of Group Sales Director and drive us forward this year.

The second senior management position will have Martin McKale promoted from General Manager to Regional Director after eight years.

Mr McKale will focus on realising the goals of the three east coast branches within his scope including personnel, sales, and logistics.

Ms Ferguson added: “Martin is another hugely experienced operator and knows the industry inside out and the Regional Director role is ideally suited to him.

“I am very much looking forward to working closely with both of them as we build on what has been a positive start to 2024.”
