Cyclist robbed at kinfepoint outside work

A 21-year-old cyclist was robbed at knifepoint as he arrived for work.

He was chaining his bicycle to a railing when he was approached by a man with a knife.

The thief, wearing a black hooded jacket with a Celtic football shirt and grey jogging bottoms, robbed the victim of the money he had on him.

The incident took place at around 8am yesterday (Wed) in Leith, Edinburgh.

The thief is thought to be white, aged between 25 – 30 years old, around six foot tall and had a scar on his chin.

A police spokesperson said “While the victim was not seriously injured, he is understandably very shaken by the incident.

“We know the surrounding area would have been busy with people heading to work, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or recognises the description of the victim to come forward immediately.”

“Lothian and Borders Police can be contacted on 0131 311 3131, or alternatively you can call Crimestoppers in complete confidence on 0800 555 111.”
