SNP “foolish” to dismiss Curriculum for Excellence report author

THE author of a critical report into the Curriculum for Excellence implementation has hit back at the SNP for dismissing his research.

The Scottish Conservatives have backed the study by Stirling University’s Dr Mark Priestley.

Scottish Conservative education spokeswoman Liz Smith said: “It is very regrettable that the Scottish Government has chosen to dismiss the report as being inaccurate.

“This is clearly not the case and we can only draw the conclusion that the Scottish Government doesn’t like the findings and hopes it can sweep them under the carpet.

“Parents and teachers know better.”
