Police negotiate with man threatening self-harm



AN INCIDENT  has occurred at a house in Inverness involving between 15 and 20 officers.

Police were called to a residence in the Madras Street area of Merkinch at about 0400 hours this morning following information that a man was threatening self harm.

Trained negotiators were deployed to the scene and continued to negotiate with the male for a number of hours. Officers then entered the property at 0900 hours and a man was removed and taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

No further information is available at this moment. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
