The 43-year-old said she selected the shoot location near Inverness because “it is one of the most magical inspiring places on the planet”.

Her campaign will help propel Scotland into the fashion spotlight, after the country was recently voted one of the top destinations for shooting films.

“This is not the first time I have been drawn to Scotland,” she said. “It’s a place that I feel really close to.

“I was brought up there as a child and spent so much of my life there, and then I got married there too.

“It is one of the most magical inspiring places on the planet and I just feel completely at home and at one with nature there.”

The daughter of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney said that she was drawn to the Scottish landscape because of the scenery, which she described as “truly spectacular”.

“It has a sense of history, heritage and a defining British strength but at the same time a sense of fragility,” she said.

“The nature is raw and real – setting Natalia within that created a fragile, gentle sensibility amidst the overpowering and impressive land.

“There is a masculinity to Scotland that complimented the femininity of the images we created. It is a very honest place and to be outside within all of that nature brought a beautiful gentle side to the photographs.

“The collection, Natalia, the place, the mood, the team – it all felt very natural working there together. We had a lot of fun in Scotland.”

Marie Owen, managing director of LS, the company which organised the shoot, said: “To see Scotland as the backdrop for this high-profile campaign truly is a recognition of the beauty that this country naturally exudes.

“We know Stella has a long history and love of Scotland and we admire the way she styled the shoot.”

The collection was shot by photographer Harvey Weir is set to appear in Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar.

Signature pieces include panel dresses, oversized cardigans and a new Noma bag.
