Driver comes up with brilliant prank to get slow-moving workman out of his way

**WARNING: OFFENSIVE CONTENT – VIDEO CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE**

HILARIOUS footage shows a prankster get a slow-moving works van out of the way by calling the mobile on the side – and pretending to be a customer.

Troy Beck was driving near Godstone, Surrey, when a van emblazoned with the logo “John the pool man” overtook him only to drive slowly.

Troy, using his hands-free phone, called the mobile on the side and pretended to be a customer in the hope John the Pool Man would pull over to handle a bit of new business.

The trick eventually and Troy, as he passed, couldn’t resist telling John he was “driving like a c***”.

The clip has been viewed 24,000 times since it was posted yesterday (wed) with social media saying they planned to pull the same trick.

Troy posted the footage to Facebook with the caption: “Excuse my French in this video but this man just overtook me then drove really slow.”

The footage begins with a white van driving in front of Troy’s vehicle with the “John the pool man” logo on the back, and two telephone numbers below.

Troy, driving but speaking into his hands free, calls the number on the back and asks if he is speaking to John the pool man.

When he admits that he is, Troy tries to convince John that he got his number from “Terry and Dave” and he had heard he was “quite handy around the pool”.

When Troy asks how much it would be to have his pool cleaned, the man on the phone says he is struggling to hear and that he is going to pull in.

At the next roundabout, heading towards Oxted, also in Surrey, the van pulls off to the left and the road in front of Troy becomes clear.

When “John” says he’s stopped, Troy retorts: “Hello John, that’s better yes. I just wanted to let you know you were driving like a right c***.”

“John” can be heard asking: “Pardon?”

A smirking Troy replies: “You were driving like a right c***. You were driving like a c*** in your little van.”

Troy took a novel approach to getting past the vehicle in front

Troy and his passenger laugh hysterically as the clip cuts out.

On social media, Luke Tucker said: “You funny c***.”

Shayne Hill added: “That’s funny as f*** bro.”

Aaron Kidd wrote: “Hahaha love this pal. I was in pieces. Done him like a kipper.”

While Stuart Ferguson joked: “He had to pool over to hear you.”

While others were inspired by the clip, including Gemma Regan-Vowles who said: “Next time we get in road rage… let’s hope they have a number.”

While Adam Cousins mused: “How many times could we have done that to people.”

The pool man himself – John Grimes, from Hawkhurst, Kent – claimed today he overtook Troy because he was driving “quite erratically”.

He said: “I didn’t want to be behind them so I overtook when I had the chance. If something happened then I’d rather be in front.”

He added: “I’m entirely bemused. I thought it was a customer, but the connection was so bad that I couldn’t hear what he was saying.

“I just kept asking him to repeat what he was saying because I couldn’t hear him, and then the line went dead.

“I spent a lot of time on the roads, so I see all sorts of things.”
