Is Artificial Intelligence More Efficient Than Human Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the ability of a computer, or any other man-made machine, to think and learn. The purpose of these machines is to imitate human thought and action. These machines are capable of learning, reasoning, reaching conclusions, anticipating and solving problems, and self-correction. Emerging augmented reality company is coming up with (AI) apps and games that are astounding for the human race.

Human intelligence, on the other hand, is the mental ability to learn from experience and understand new concepts, which helps us adapt to new situations and settle into an environment. The purpose of human intelligence is to help human beings make decisions, learn and form concepts, use language to communicate, and plan and solve problems accordingly.

To determine whether artificial intelligence or human intelligence is better, you should first know how the two differ.

How Are The Two Different?

Difference of Creation:
Human intelligence stems from nature, while artificial intelligence is man-made. Artificial intelligence will always stay dependent on human intelligence because the main source of its energy is data fed to it from its human creators.

Speed:
Artificial intelligence is faster when compared to human intelligence. For example, a human can solve a single math problem in a minute while AI can solve ten math problems in a minute.

Accuracy:
AI mostly produces accurate results when solving problems because it uses a set of codes to solve them. On the other hand, problems solved by the human brain might not provide accurate results.

Decision Making:
AI makes decisions on the basis of figures and gathered data and is thus objective. While decisions made by humans may be biased, which can make their decisions subjective.

Adaptation:
Adapting to different situations and learning new skills takes a little time, but it is not that difficult for human intelligence. But when it comes to artificial intelligence, adapting can take a lot of time and effort. AI may struggle with learning new skills and adapting to different situations.

Multitasking:
Human intelligence is capable of performing several different tasks at once. Surprisingly, AI cannot multitask as much as AI can.

Social Interaction and Self-Awareness:
Humans are social beings, and they are naturally aware of themselves, their surroundings, and the people around them. However, artificial intelligence is not capable of picking cues on self-awareness and social behavior.

Energy Used:
Modern computers use 2 watts while the human brain uses 25 watts of energy.

Conclusion:
The question of artificial intelligence versus human intelligence will always stand. We can easily say that human intelligence is superior to the artificial intelligence right now. However, it is completely possible that artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence in the near future.

Advances in AI are happening at an increasingly fast pace. More and more AI programs are excelling at problem-solving, and decision making at a pace much faster than humans are evolving. What the advancement of AI means for the future of the world, only time will tell.
