Scots singer Shirley Manson has been receiving unwelcome male attention

SCOTS rock singer Shirley Manson has revealed she is still receiving unwelcome attention from besotted male fans.

The 45-year-old Garbage star is currently on a worldwide tour to promote the band’s comeback album ‘Not Your Kind of People’.
Middle-aged Manson told her Twitter fans that a young admirer had attempted to fondle her after the group’s performance at Madison Square Gardens last week.

Writing to the band’s 46, 186 followers, the feisty singer tweeted: “Quote from 24yr old boy last night. ‘Shirley you are old but you’re still really sexy’. Proceeded then to try to touch my breasts.”

The flame-haired singer, who ranks no.28 on VH1’s ‘30 Sexiest Rock Frontwoman’ chart, had support from some of her Twitter devotees. One fan, Jessie Jessup, wrote: “I hope you bopped the boy on the head and swift kick in the pants,” and another added: “Knock him out!”

One follower, called Jason, obviously agreed with the over-enthusiastic fan’s actions, reassuring the singer: “Not old at all, and always damn sexy.”

Manson, who last month called in police after receiving hundreds of death threats from an obsessive Twitter troll, tweets under the bands official page @garbage.

Other recent tweets include her husband seeing a ghost at Madison, Wisconsin, and pictures of the band’s understated travelling riders.

The Edinburgh star posted snaps of her tour luggage, which consisted mostly of tattered-looking trainers, joking: “I’ll bet Lady Gaga wishes she had a nice wardrobe trunk like this!”

She also showed off the band’s very un-rocklike drinks quota of bottles of water and fizzy drinks, writing: “such a fine selection of backstage treats!”

Garbage, who formed with the Scots singer in 1994, have released five studio albums, with their self-titled debut selling 4million copies worldwide.

Manson, who previously played keyboards in Edinburgh-band Goodbye Mr Mackenzie, has also acted in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and modelled for teen magazine Jackie.
