Transforming your garden

Is your garden an ode to the rocks, a palace of tiles, a stoner’s heaven? Then you will probably want to improve things. However, improving your garden is something that can take a lot of time to do initially, but also to keep it nice and good looking is something that can be time consuming.
Therefore it is nice to look for some rather easy yet very effective ways to make your garden a nicer place. A place of green and a place of coziness, a place where one can sit and escape the urban, or sub-urban (and possibly worse) world around you, to have a moment of calmth, peace and silence, a moment of meditation.

Plants in the garden
Of course it is important to have some plants in your garden. If your garden only has stone slabs, big ugly grey stone tiles, your garden will not only be ugly and a disturbance to the eye of any sane person, but it will also block a lot of water. Because of the tiles the ground will not suck up enough water and dry out as a consequence. This can mean that the ground will sink in. This causes problems for the water management in the entirety of your neighborhood, especially if more people in your neighborhood do this.
Take out those terrible tiles and put some nice plants in the dirt. They don’t have to be complicated plants. Just take a bush for example, perhaps you’ll have to cut it a little bit a few times each spring and summer, to not let it get out of hand, but in general, the upkeep of a bush is rather easy, though they look very nice.

Wooden structures
When you have planted some nice plants in your garden, perhaps a few bushes, perhaps some flowers, you can start creating nice wooden structures. Perhaps you want to put down a wooden gazebo. You can sit nicely underneath a wooden gazebo and use it to create a bit of a cozy atmosphere in your garden. This way you will have a nice spot to sit in your now beautiful garden. But besides a wooden gazebo with sides in your garden, you can also think of putting down some nice benches to sit on, so that you can enjoy your garden to a further extent.

The purpose of your garden
Take into consideration what exactly it is that you want your garden to be. Do you just want it to be nice to the eye when you look outside, or do you actually want to use it? Do you want to sit in it and read a book, or do you just want to have a place to sit in the sun and drink your beers. Because if so you will have different things you will want to change (or keep) in your garden than if your goals are to use it for extensive amounts of meditation or if you like to camp inside your garden in an attempt to release the inner beast inside your, which is restrained by the social constructs created by modern capitalism.
