Hilarious video shows student rescuing pint from flooded house

A HILARIOUS video shows a student going back to rescue a leftover pint after he and his housemates were forced to evacuate from their rapidly flooding house.

Dan Pike and pals were left to wade out of their student accommodation in Leeds, West Yorkshire earlier this month after torrential rainfall left their home underwater.

Dan from South Shields, Tyne and Wear however, refused to let his hard-earned booze go to waste, hilariously electing to push his way back into the living room – to rescue his pint and takeaway.

Video shows Dan documenting the water damage to their house, opening one door to reveal a pool of stagnant water hiding behind it.

He adds “The floorboards are actually – oh f**k” in disbelief, rapidly closing the door again after realising the water is right behind it.

He continues: “The floorboards are lifting and there’s dirt coming through” as girls can be heard shouting in panic in the background,

Dan then opens a second door, leading to the house’s front door, which is seemingly getting battered by rainwater, which floods through like a waterfall, before coursing through into their living room.

Dan hilariously simply says “What the f**k” before slamming the door again and turning to give a sarcastic thumbs up to his shocked onlooking flatmates.

The clip then cuts to the house in darkness as Dan descends his stairs, puffing as on-screen text reads: “Gone back for the essentials”.

He shouts: “I’m coming for it” as he approaches the living room door, before letting out a whimper as he steps into the ice-cold water.

The video then shows Dan wading back into the now-dark living room, which appears to be submerged under a couple of inches of water.

He comments: “What the- the f**king floorboards have lifted.”

He meanders to the living room’s coffee table, adding “I’m coming for you” as he retrieves his untouched pint before making a beeline back to the safety of his stairs.

A final hilarious image on the video shows Dan posing on the stairs with his unfinished takeaway and pint following his rescue of both.

Dan uploaded the video to social media earlier this month with the caption: “Student living, eh?”

The clip has since received over 19,000 likes and more than 110 comments from users left in stitches by Dan’s rescue mission.

One user noted: “You abandoned the Chinese.”

Another joked: “Good man going back for the San Miguel.”

A third quipped: “Students think they have it so bad, not many of us are fortunate enough to have a water feature inside our home.”

Another agreed: “Nah we’d all do the same [for real].”

A fifth claimed: “Omg I lived in this house in 2019 and the exact same thing happened.”
