Hilarious video sees busy commuters repeatedly slipping on same icy patch of ground

A HILARIOUS video captures a series of busy commuters repeatedly slipping on the same patch of black ice.

The icy hazard caught countless Newcastle residents out at the end of the Gateshead Millenium Bridge yesterday.

Footage filmed by one amused onlooker captures several commuters left red-faced after being sent slipping and sliding by the patch of treacherous ice.

The hilarious video begins with Dean Martin’s Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! playing in the background as people approach the barriers at the end of the bridge.

One woman, seen walking with her hands in the pockets of her black coat, suddenly takes a tumble, falling on the ice as she passes the barriers before picking herself up, red-faced and chuckling.

One man attempts to help her but is caught out alongside a pal, both forced to steady themselves to avoid the slip.

The clip then cuts to a montage of pedestrians including couples, kids and runners all being caught out by the invisible ice.

The music continues to play in the background as a family with children holding hands, ambles unsuspectingly towards the patch before being sent skidding onto their bums.

One man can even be seen jogging along the bridge and attempting to avoid the patch of ice as he runs around the side of it – only to fall and then bounce forward to another barrier of the bridge.

Another walker can be seen falling to her feet as others attempt to help put her back on her feet.

A final local can be seen walking with his hands in his trouser pockets slipping and falling onto his back to the shock of those behind him, who can be heard gasping.

The footage was posted to social media by Sorena Pa yesterday, with the caption: “A snowy day in England. Wait for it.”

The clip received over 95,900 likes and more than 900 comments from users left tickled by the repeated slip-ups.

One person joked: “That path is saying, ‘Say hello to Radiology from me.'”

Another said: “Has someone poured water there to record people falling?”

A third commented: “I love guessing which one is going to stack it.”

Another added: “Who walks in hands in pockets in the snow [and] ice?”

A fifth wrote: “I am absolutely screaming at this but know I’d be crying if I was one of them.”

A final commenter said: “I would stay there all day. Get myself a hot chocolate and enjoy the show.”

Speaking to Sorena Pa, 27, today he said: “Me and my friends were just on a walk along the Quayside in Newcastle and noticed there was a really slippery section on the Millennium Bridge that you can see in the videos.

“Every person that walked over it seemed to slip in on way or another so we found it quite entertaining and recorded it.

“I also have a video of a friend of mine doing a behind-the-scenes sort of video of me capturing the videos, which is also quite funny.”
