Appeal To Find Lorry Smash Driver

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses after a lorry failed to stop after its trailer smashed into a car on Monday.

The white curtain sided articulated lorry struck a blue Audi car at about 2pm on the A7 at the junction to the A720 Sheriffhall roundabout heading westbound.

Officers said despite the car being left “very badly damaged” the lorry failed to stop at the scene. No-one was injured, police said.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesperson added: “We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time, and may have some information regarding the incident, to come forward.”

Anyone with any information was asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131.
