Man cautioned for cruelty to dog

A MAN has been cautioned for causing unnecessary suffering to a dog.

Following a Scottish SPCA investigation, the 26-year-old from the Stenhouse area of Edinburgh has been cautioned under the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006.

He is accused of causing unnecessary suffering to a male Staffordshire bull terrier.

The dog was found dead on Whitson Road in the city earlier this month.

A report will now be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
