Hunt for next of kin for dead man



POLICE in Edinburgh are appealing for assistance to help trace relatives of a man who died in the Capital on Thursday, April 19.

John McElhinney, 57, became unwell at his home address in Dean Village and was taken to the Western General Hospital, where he passed away.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Mr McElhinney has no known relatives, although it is thought that he may have a brother in Vancouver, Canada.  He may also have a niece or nephew.

 

Anyone who has any information that can assist police in identifying relatives of Mr McElhinney should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131.
