Wesley joins the Senior Leadership Team at Bullet Express and will oversee all aspects of storage including storage operations, health & safety, commercial execution, business optimisation and people.

Wesley has over 35 years of experience in warehousing and logistics. He has previously held senior positions with AMG Group, Peacock Salt and Curry European Transport.

Wesley joined Bullet Express in March 2022 to lead the development of its 67,000 sq/ft. floor storage centre at Renfrew and has held the position Head of Storage since December 2023.

Established more than 30 years ago, Bullet Express now has more than 800 regular customers; 145 trucks and trailers on the country’s roads; and four bespoke storage sites with capacity for up to 40,000 pallets.

It is a full-service logistics business with 160 employees providing UK and European road freight services, worldwide freight management, customs and storage solutions for customers.

Bullet Express’ rapidly expanding network now includes:

  • Renfrew, Westway Bullet Express Storage Centre with 67,000 sq/ft. floor storage and easy access to the M8 and Glasgow Airport.
  • Bothwell, Express Pallet Centre and HQ totalling 200,000 sq/ft. – network distribution.
  • Baillieston, flagship Storage Centre totalling 210,000 sq/ft. – racked and floor storage.
  • London Road, Glasgow Storage Centre, totalling 32,000 sq/ft. – high-bay racked storage.

In Autumn 2023, Bullet Express was acquired in a private equity backed Management Buyout (MBO) led by the company’s Managing Director, John McKail.

The multi-million-pound MBO is backed by equity partners, Panoramic Growth Equity, a leading equity and debt investor in UK-based small and medium sized companies, and Maven Capital Partners.

The MBO has seen John McKail become Group CEO and shareholder, supported by the existing Directors, Bridget Mackay, William Herron and Martin Craghill, all of whom have played an active role in the success of the MBO and remain important stakeholders.

Wesley Riggins said: “Bullet Express is a dynamic business with fantastic clients and people.

I am excited to be moving to the next level as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and operating board, as we continue the expansion of Bullet Express’ services and brand into the future.”

John McKail, Group Chief Executive at Bullet Express, said: “Wesley has a fantastic track record in the industry and understands how to deliver success.

With this promotion, Wesley brings a wealth of experience to our Senior Leadership Team and will play a significant role in contributing to the future growth of Bullet Express, concentrated on the evolvement of storage and logistics into new arenas.”
